I started taking my daughter to Dr. Gill when she was two months old. Prior to seeing Dr. Gill we had been doing cranial sacral sessions with my daughter. Unfortunately we weren’t making much progress and we were lucky enough to have Dr. Gill recommended to us. My daughter was born with a tongue and lip tie and had other midline issues. Through our treatments with Dr. Gill, my daughter was able to start using her tongue correctly, organize herself better and have “normal” age appropriate movements, along with overall good health. I cannot rave enough about Dr. Gill. Her patience, determination and true care for my child was not only observed by myself but I feel that she went over and above what was required to make sure my daughter was using her whole body as effectively as possible. I would say Dr. Gill’s hands are magical and the care and treatment that she gives her patients is priceless. My daughter is now thriving and I credit Dr. Gill to this.

We feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Gill, who has been working with our three-year-old son for a number of months now. He has global developmental delays (nonverbal, just started walking, eats via feeding tube, sensory issues, visual and auditory processing issues), and is otherwise diagnosed. We have seen many specialists, and when we first went to Dr. Gill, we honestly didn’t know what to expect, though she had come highly recommended by several other parents of children with special needs. We were instantly impressed, and have continued to be with every appointment.
Her work with our son consists of small movements that have noticeable impact. The actual osteopathic work isn’t easily described, and though I still have a tricky time explaining clearly to other parents what the work is/looks like, what I can describe easily are the results. Our son cries like crazy at most doctor’s offices. He has never fussed with Dr. Gill, and seems relaxed in her office. An appointment with her is easy and peaceful for the child, and she expertly reads what the child’s body needs, and addresses the issues. She was the first person to talk to us about how our son is breathing (not ideally), and how that impacts his ability to eat, sleep, and many other functions (very surprising that no one else pointed this out considering how many professionals have attempted to address these things with our son). She has connected us with other specialists who we would not have found otherwise. Our son’s awareness of and participation in the world around him always takes a step forward after an appointment with Dr. Gill. The most obvious change we have seen that can be attributed directly to her work is that in our last session, we could actually see how the shape of his head changed for the better (she was working with the intention of creating space in his skull to facilitate brain growth/development). Sounds like I made that up, I know. But, it happened in one session and we can see the difference.
As with many parents of special needs kids, when our son makes leaps forward, it can be challenging to pinpoint which thing was the tipping point, and what exactly is working the best for him. Our son does many therapies that offer him a great deal of benefit. Osteopathy feels like it compliments, synthesizes, and grounds the other therapies. While many of the benefits of seeing Dr. Gill are hard to quantify (his awareness and alertness, the quality of his sound production and movements, his tactile sensitivity, etc), they’re consistent with every appointment, and we have found that the benefits last for our son.
For families considering bringing their children (with or without special needs) to Dr. Gill, my advice is this: It’s well worth going, and odds are strong that you’ll be going back. She is unlike anyone else, and your child will be better off for having her on your team.

A quote from a 5 year-old boy who came in with headache for 2 days (after hitting his head), leg pain, crankiness and difficulty sleeping. He was asked how he felt after his treatment. He smiled and said, ” I feel like chocolate.”

“I first came to Dr. Gill because I had gotten sick for 3 years in a row. A cold would get stuck in my ear and lead to a sore throat, losing my voice and having to go on antibiotics, A friend had been taking his daughter to Dr. Gill since she was an infant and felt that she had never had an ear infection because Dr. Gill kept her system moving clearly. It has now been 6? years and I have not had to be on antibiotics once! Dr. Gill really listens and learns all about my health history. She also felt my thyroid was enlarged which lead to my diagnois of Hashimotos.
Dr. Gill has also treated my daughter who has multiple allergies and would have a lot of phlegm in the mornings and sometimes throughout the day. We saw Dr. Gill before going away on a vacation where I knew I wouldn’t be able to control all the allergy factors including dust mites. When we returned for a follow up and Dr. Gill asked how her symptoms had been on the trip. I realized she hadn’t had any!”

“Dr. Gill has treated my entire family. We started seeing her with our first born who had plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome). We didn’t think our baby (4 months old at our first session) would do well wearing a helmet so we sought out Dr. Gill. We also brought our second born in with the same thing 2 years later! Dr. Gill is so wonderful with children and they both have perfectly normal-shaped heads today (4 and 2 now). More than just cosmetics, I know that the development of both of my children’s heads and bodies were improved by having Dr. Gill treat them. We also take them in after major falls to get them healing better/faster.
Dr. Gill has also treated my husband and me for various things, but my most severe ailment was my voice. After my second child was born, I developed a vocal chord problem and I couldn’t speak very loudly. Surgery was my only option from “traditional medicine”, but they didn’t really know why or what happened. I still don’t, but through Dr. Gill’s intuitive and skillful treatments, my voice is completely normal again. It is rather important to be heard when one has two active toddlers! I recommend Dr. Gill wholeheartedly. She has been such an amazing person and doctor. Her influence in my family’s life has been phenomenal and we are so thankful for her. Go see her for whatever ails you; you won’t be disappointed!”

“Dr. Gill has helped me in so very many areas over the past 20 or so years, that I find it quite challenging to describe or isolate her abilities.
In that period I have had a variety of issues, ranging from herniated lower back discs, to a repeatedly sprained ankle, an accident, and 8 years of monthly bi-coastal traveling, which left me exhausted, ill and physically compromised. With every incident or situation, I learned that regardless of the illness or injury, my body would received what it needed to heal. I mean that literally. These issues that in another context might become chronic, have not limited my ability to live fully in the world or travel. This is entirely due to her remarkable skill.
A session in her office is tailored both to the injury being treated and it’s overall effect upon the body. At it’s conclusion, I always feel a physical and emotional relief from pain, as a result of her ability to completely tune into my body’s needs. This healing continues over a period of days or longer as my body readjusts to a position of greater health.
I am deeply grateful to her and would recommend her work to anyone who is in need of physical help.”
